Rui is a druid dedicated to Cha’Huate, the dying island-god. She’s been made into an aspect of its flora. Blind from birth, she was chosen by Empty Face to receive this blessing, and now serves her as the order serves Cha’Huate. Despite her small stature and serene disposition, Rui is furtively feared by the islanders for her peculiar mannerisms, her eyeless floral gaze, and because she attracts a lot of bees.

Cha’Huate’s blessing is apparent in Rui’s face, and more so in her effect on the world around her. She causes mutations and accelerated growth by bearing a fragment of the island god’s primal purpose, even as it dies. The island’s population of bees is attuned to her as is she were their queen.
